- Legally compliant DOI for newsletter registration
Double-Opt-In (DOI) for a newsletter subscription is standard at CleverReach®. Your subscribers will receive an email with a confirmation link. By clicking on this link, they confirm that they want to receive your newsletters – and you are on the legally compliant side when creating your recipient lists. - Logging
All newsletter subscriptions of your recipients are logged by our system with data such as their email address, IP details and time and date of their subscription and confirmation. - Automatic list purging during upload
Right when uploading/importing your recipient data, they are automatically checked. Invalid/incorrect or duplicate addresses are filtered out. That’s how we protect you from doubles and bounces. - Integrated unsubscribe links in our templates
All CleverReach® templates have the statutory unsubscribe link for a newsletter. Recipients can easily unsubscribe with a single click. The respective email address is saved with a note, so it is recognized as unsubscribed during a new import and you don’t accidentally send newsletter to that specific recipient again. - Feature: Deleting recipient data
Your recipients may request the deletion of their personal data. CleverReach® offers the respective feature. Your recipients will find the delete function in the respective CleverReach® account under the menu item “My Account” – “Settings” – “Privacy”. Optionally, you can also set that your unsubscribed or unconfirmed recipients are deleted.

1. GDPR compliant newsletter marketing
Our email marketing software is adapted to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) valid from May 25, 2018. This way you can be sure that your email marketing is not only legally compliant but also data protection compliant.
That’s our contribution:
- Double Opt-In for newsletter subscription, documentation of consent
- Unsubscribe link in each email template, data protection-compliant registration forms
- Delete your own data from a recipient list, legal notice in every newsletter
What else needs to be done:
- Conclude an order processing contract with us
- Include newsletter delivery in your Privacy Policy, Link Privacy Policy with newsletter registration form
2. Electronically conclude an agreement for processing personal data – possible from May 25, 2018 on!!!
From May 25, 2018 our customers can conclude the order processing agreement with us online in their CleverReach® account. You can find the digital order processing agreement in your CleverReach® account at “My Account” – “Settings” – “Privacy”. According to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you always need a contract for order processing when you pass on personal data to a service provider such as CleverReach®.
You do this by using our CleverReach® newsletter tool for your email marketing, because in this case you store personal data of your recipients on our servers. This is first of all the respective email address, but also further information such as the IP address, the associated country or the browser version used by your recipients.
The order processing agreement replaces the previous contract for order data processing based on the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
Please note: CleverReach® customers who have signed an order processing agreement with version 4.0 (in the footer of your contract) or higher do not need to do anything anymore – these are already adapted to the applicable GDPR.
3. Secure EU server locations
CleverReach® guarantees highest data security through dedicated servers at locations exclusively in the EU. By using dedicated servers, we offer our customers own and unchanging IP addresses. This results in a high server reputation – and this in turn in high delivery rates!
The world-class and highly secure data centers we use operate with state-of-the-art electronic monitoring and multi-factor access control systems. To prove this, our data centers have undergone independent certifications and checks. They have received DIN ISO/IEC 27001 certification and have been confirmed as a Level 1 service provider for the data security standard of the credit card industry (DSS/PCI).
4. SSL encoding
With the help of SSL encoding, data on the Internet is transmitted securely. This protects you from being interrogated by unauthorized third parties, the so-called phishing.
We offer our customers the possibility to use SSL for the transfer of their registration data. This is how you make the transmission of personal data, such as the address details of your recipients secure. Our customers don’t need their own SSL-certificate, all they have to do is activate SSL encoding with just one click.
5. Made in Germany: TÜV-approved safety
Your data is important to us! That’s why we do everything we can to make sure they are safe and secure. We have had this confirmed by TÜV Rheinland (Germany).
CleverReach® is certified with the “Data Protection and Data Security” seal of approval. TÜV Rheinland (Germany) has thus certified that our information security management system offers outstanding data security and perfect compliance with data protection regulations.
